About OTR On The Rise (OTR) is designed to build confidence and leadership skills in boys 10 -14 years of age through sport and adventure. This initiative will help boys who otherwise may not get the opportunity to do so, be able to participate in a variety of physical activities that will help them set and achieve realistic goals, accept responsibility, break through barriers, find healthy ways to cope with stress, and learn to respect themselves and others. Our team has built a sustainable program through which young boys can mature and become mentors for those who will participate in the program in the future. It's been proven that physical activity can enhance self-image, build confidence, and lower rates of depression, and it's our goal to build a community where sport and adventure-seeking boys can connect and participate in the many indoor and outdoor activities our community has to offer.
OUR TEAM
As the founders, we believe in rallying at the community level to identify resources and shared goals to ensure that boys have the opportunity to engage in all forms of physical play, physical activity, and a variety of sports. This partnership will help us build a stronger and more sustainable program now and into the future. By pooling resources from various sectors, local businesses, voluntary groups, and other sport organizations, we hope to overcome any barriers to participation for boys who are interested.
