Learn to Play Outdoor Summer Tennis Programs

Learn to Play Outdoor Summer Tennis Programs

Registration opens April 11

Tennis New Brunswick and the Abony Family Tennis Center are bringing tennis to you in your neighbourhood. It’s now easier than ever to learn to play tennis. Kids, teens and adults can learn to serve, rally and score using appropriate equipment to get you playing quickly. All classes delivered by Tennis Canada Certified instructors from the Abony Family Tennis Center.

So come on Fredericton, GET OUT AND PLAY TENNIS!

All equipment provided for the outdoor lessons. No racquets required.

Kids Tennis

Kids tennis introduces the sport of tennis in a fun and interactive way and ensures immediate success for player’s age 6-12 years old. Using softer balls, smaller courts and age appropriate racquets, it is now easier to learn to play a sport for life.

Kids are grouped according to age and skill level where they are coached using the red, orange or green balls on the appropriate court size. In the event of a difference in age or skill level, you will be contacted before the session starts.

What is Tennis Express?

Starter players are defined as those who:

  • Are beginners to tennis who have never played tennis before
  • Have received basic coaching, but have never played the game outside of a coaching environment
  • Players returning to tennis after a long absence

The aim is to help starter players to serve, rally and score (play the game) from the first session and to ensure that by the end of the session you will be able to:

  • Know the basic techniques, tactics and the rules of tennis
  • Play competitive points using the green ball on a full court
