ABOUT THE ABONY FAMILY TENNIS CENTER
The Abony Family Tennis Center has 6 state of the art indoor courts. The center has been open since December 2012 and has over 230 juniors in their spring programming and over 350 juniors in their summer camps. With a vibrant adult and senior tennis community we offer starter adult programs, Cardio Tennis, leagues and a busy social calendar. The center is the only indoor facility in New Brunswick and hosts many TNB tournaments and coaching courses. AFTC programs are accessible for everyone and include junior progressive tennis and high performance programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate must have considerable experience in developing and delivering junior and adult programs, as well as, event management skills. The Tennis Professional will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a strong understanding of using all the modified tennis equipment to deliver programs to meet Tennis Canada’s LTAD plan. The candidate will be required to work as a tennis ambassador at the reception desk. This position requires flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to use initiative and achieve goals within agreed upon work deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner with a natural ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong IT and keyboard skills and knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
  • Demonstrable administration experience in a customer-focused environment
  • Previous experience coordinating or organising activities

JOB PURPOSE

  • To help improve the delivery of junior programs from kids tennis to high performance players
  • Implement and support team tennis programs
  • Administration and customer service responsibilities as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Instructor or Club Pro 1 certification or equivalent international certification

COMPENSATION
Compensation will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

 

    Hours of Operation

    Summer hours

    Monday – Friday
    8:00am – 8:00pm

    Saturday & Sunday
    9:00am – 4:00pm

    If no courts are booked, we may close early.
